Aroha mai, aroha atu
Love towards us, love going out from us
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) is a non-profit organisation whose work primarily involves person-to-person contact with people who have a variety of needs.
The Society tries to promote self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves. Any assistance offered by the Society is given in a non-judgemental spirit of compassion, based on the need of the individual or family.
2017 marks the 150th year that The Society has been operating in New Zealand. The first Conference started in Christchurch and accordingly The Society's Annual General Meeting will be held in Christchurch in October. There will be a number of special events to mark the 150 years and around the Country the various Society Areas will be holding local events to celebrate.
