VINNIES - HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED

No form of help is foreign to the Society. This includes any form of help that alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity

Rule 1.3 of the Society

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) is a non-profit organisation whose work primarily involves person-to-person contact with people who have a variety of needs.

The Society tries to promote self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves. Any assistance offered by the Society is given in a non-judgemental spirit of compassion, based on the need of the individual or family.

You may know that St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) have wonderful Op Shops, where fantastic bargains are to be found.  However, you may not be aware that all the profits from our Op Shops are used to support people in need in our communities throughout the Western Bay.  We have shops in Tauranga, Greerton and Mount Maungaunui.  Shop

Many people need support at some time in their lives to deal with life's challenges and support provided needs to be practical, useful, non-judgemental and be respectful.  We work very closely with other organisations in order that we can provide a holistic service.  Some examples are Budget Advice, Plunket and Social Work Services.
